Success in Hollywood

I found acting quite late in life. I don’t remember ever wanting to be an actor as a kid.
I loved the cinema, sure, but I never imagined myself being part of that world in real
life.
I studied economics at school. My cousin’s a successful chartered accountant in the UK
and my dad wanted to me to follow in my cousin’s footsteps. “That’s where the money
is, son.” He used to say. Go and work for cousin Harry and let him teach you the business.
I lasted 6 months!
With only seven hundred pounds in my pocket, I flew off to Hollywood and went to drama
school. It wasn’t easy working and studying at the same time.
Luckily, I met someone at a party who offered me some advertising work. In fact, I still
mainly do ads. It’s good money and I enjoy it. Nevertheless, if I were offered a part in a
film or play I would jump at it. My dream is still to be a Hollywood star.
