1. We need to lower out prices because we’re facing some cut-throat competition from Chinese companies.
2. The product launch is scheduled for March 1st. If we don’t finalize everything by the end of the week, we’ll be cutting it too fine.
3. I went to an auction last week and made a bid on a second- hand van.
4. I’m dreadfully sorry. Our computer system crashed this morning and we can’t access our files.
5. Our firm has been losing money these last two years and we can’t afford to keep you on. I’m afraid we’re going to have to let you go.
