Boris pays a fine for breaking his own rules

The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has said sorry after being found guilty by police over the partygate scandal and says he has paid the fine.

But Boris Johnson refused to resign and said it ‘did not occur to him’ that he might have broken Covid rules.

His response and ‘full apology’ was given after it became known that his wife had also paid her fine.

Mr Johnson said: ‘I have to say, at that time it did not occur to me that this might have been a breach of the rules.

‘But of course the police have found otherwise and I fully respect the outcome of their investigation.’
