Talking to Pets
as if They Understand You
Many people talk to their pets. Cats, dogs, and even birds hear human
words every day. Sometimes, people ask their pets how their day was,
tell them secrets, or even argue with them.
Pets do not understand everything, but they can feel your emotions. Dogs,
for example, notice your happiness, sadness, or anger. Cats may ignore
you, but they enjoy the sound of your voice. Talking to pets can be
comforting and funny.
Some people give long speeches to their pets. They might explain why
they are late or ask for advice about life. Even if the pet can’t answer,
it is fun to imagine what they would say.
Talking to pets can also be good for learning a language. You can
practise words, sentences, and pronunciation. Pets are patient listeners,
and they will not correct your mistakes.
So, talking to pets may look silly, but it is relaxing, fun, and even
educational.
