Como tal, no existe un tiempo específico de futuro
en inglés, pero existen distintos verbos y expresiones para referirnos a él.
Una forma habitual de futuro en inglés tiene la siguiente estructura:
Sujeto + will + verbo
I will play / Yo jugaré
Como vemos, ésta forma de futuro en inglés es bastante simple. De hecho, suele
denominarse FUTURO SIMPLE (Future Simple)
Podemos encontrarnos con otra forma auxiliar, válida también para expresar el
futuro, que es 'shall'. En este caso, 'shall' sirve como auxiliar para la
primera persona del singular y plural empleándose 'will' para todas las demás.
Tanto 'shall' como 'will' pueden contraerse en sus formas afirmativa y negativa
(You will = You'll).
'Shall' es menos utilizado, especialmente en Estados Unidos. En inglés moderno
se tiende a usar 'will' para todas las personas.
AFIRMATIVA
I (shall / will) play = Yo jugaré
You will play = Tú jugarás
He will play = Él jugará
We (shall / will) play = Nosotros jugaremos
You will play = Vosotros jugareis
They will play = Ellos jugarán
NEGATIVA
I (shall / will) not play = Yo no jugaré
You will not play = Tú no jugarás
He will not play = Él no jugará
We (shall / will) not play = Nosotros no jugaremos
You will not play = Vosotros no jugaréis
They will not play = Ellos no jugarán
En la forma interrogativa se invierte el orden
de sujeto y auxiliar:
Will you play? / ¿Jugarás?
La forma estructura de la forma interrogativa-negativa es:
auxiliar + sujeto + not

Martin was an English teacher in a language school. After working at his current
school for six months, he decided it was time to find a better job with a higher
salary. In his final week at the school, he told Carla, one of his favourite one-to-one
students.
‘I’m afraid that next term I won’t be teaching in this school any more, Carla.
I’m moving to another city.’
‘I’m really sorry about that, Martin. I wish you weren’t going.’ Carla replied.
‘Well, thank you, Carla! It’s very kind of you to say so.’
‘The new teacher won’t be as good as you are. I’m sure the lessons
won’t be as good as yours.’ said the student.
‘That’s so nice of you!’ said Mark, flattered.
‘Yes,’ continued Carla, ‘I’ve been coming to this school for five years now and
every new teacher has been worse than the one before.’

Tom
was not the Model Boy of the village. He knew the model boy very well though,
and hated him. Tom had forgotten all his troubles. Not because his troubles were,
to him, less than a man's are to a man, but because a new and powerful interest
had just captured his imagination, in the same way that a man’s misfortunes are
forgotten in the excitement of new enterprises.
This new interest was a strong fascination with whistling, which he had just
acquired from a friend, and he was trying to practise it undisturbed. It
consisted of a peculiar bird-like sound, a sort of liquid noise, produced by
touching the tongue to the roof of the mouth at short intervals - the reader
probably remembers how to do it, if he or she has ever been a boy or girl.
Hard work, consistency and attention soon gave him the hang of it, and he walked
down the street with his mouth full of harmony and his soul full of gratitude.
He felt like an astronomer feels who has discovered a new planet.
The summer evenings were long. It was not dark, yet. Tom gave a short whistle. A
stranger was in front of him. It was a boy a bit larger than himself. A new
person of any age or either sex was an impressive
curiosity in the poor little shabby village of St. Petersburg. This boy was well
dressed, too – very well dressed for a week-day.
This was simply astounding. His cap was a pretty thing, his close-buttoned blue
cloth shirt collar was new and shiny, and so were his trousers. He had shoes on
- and it was only Friday. He even wore a tie, a bright bit of cloth.
He have the impression of the city, and this annoyed Tom. The
more Tom stared at the splendid marvel, the higher he turned up his nose at his
smartness and the older, dirtier and shabbier his own outfit seemed to become.
Neither boy spoke. If one moved, the other moved - but only to the side, in a
circle; they kept face to face and eye to eye all the time. Finally Tom said:
- "I can beat you!"
- "I'd like to see you try it."
- "Well, I can do it."
- "No you can't."
- "Yes I can."
- "No you can't."
- "I can."
- "You can't."
- "Can!"
- "Can't!"
An uncomfortable pause. Then Tom said:
